Idiots...

Fri Aug 10, 2007, 6:19 PM
  • Mood: I Have To Pee
  • Listening to: Running The World - Jarvis Cocker
  • Reading: High Fidelity - Nick Hornby
  • Watching: Myself typing...
  • Playing: Wouldn't you like to know.
  • Eating: Jesus, this is getting person.
  • Drinking: Urine....... No, not really.
I finally have time for a new blog.

*Celebration noise*

You know what really annoys me? Stupid people.
Like, closed minded, shallow, ignorent people who laugh at people for having an opinion.. Not even... For having an intrest, in things they think aren't cool. Idiots. I mean, why shit on other people for your stupidity? Grow up. As The Boss would say 'Good Luck and Goodbye'.

Anyway... Now that thats off my chest.

I haven't really had much time for Bebo, or the internet for that matter, lately. So I haven't been replying to comments, messages, or anything like that as fast as I usually would. I apologise for that.
Its not like I've had anything to do. Far from it, I do nothing. So really, I should be spending more time here. Writing lots of wonderful blogs
And yeah, I probably will.

Though going to Bul-GAY-ria on Monday (Aug 13th) might put a serious dent in that, but I'll find a nice internet stall or something like that to hide from everyone in the country in.
Sounds good to me...

OH. New Harry Potter film.. Fantastic!!!
New Harry Potter Book... Fantastic!!!
Simpsons Movie... Fantastic!!!

Oh, speaking of new things that are fantastic. The new ManicStreetPreachers song, 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough', is pretty decent!! Nice to see they haven't lost their touch. I mean, after having huge hits like 'Design For Life', 'You Stole The Sun From My Heart', and 'If You Tolerate This' (which all rank pretty high on my all time favourite songs list), then hearing practically nothing from them for a few years, I'd thought they'd gone in the direction of Deep Blue Something. Fortunately not, this being the first single off their new album (which judging by this song seems fairly promising) signals they are as strong as ever. Though different. They always seemed kindof... Apocalyptic?
Now, by that I mean, like, their sound, texture, and sometimes lyrics were always... Well matched up to their name. Manic Street Preachers. Like those crazy men running around street claiming God is coming and is going to punish you.
Their songs always gave me a sense of that, but never in as pushy a way as those people trying to convert you to Christianity just for walking down the street the wrong way. In these songs, they don't seem pushy, instead more like a social commentary.
You'll see what I mean in these few lines from 'Design For Life' (Everything Must Go - Released 1996);

'Libraries gave us power
Then work came and made us free
What price now for a shallow piece of dignity'

'We dont talk about love we only want to get drunk
And we are not allowed to spend
As we are told that this is the end'

The first verse cleverly containing a reference to the saying 'knoglegde is power'. And a reference to the Nazi's slogan 'Work will set you free', or Arbeit Macht Frei in their own language.
And the chorus summing up, pretty well, todays society.

Really, what I was trying to say is, the new release just lacks that sense of... Je-ne-sais-quoi. Whatever it is, its not there.

Not to say thats a bad thing either. Sure its different, but not all change is bad. Their new, more, poppy I suppose, style has gone down pretty well.

Though, I think they've realised it too, judging by the clever salutation of one of their older hits in the lyrics;

'You stole the sun straight from my heart from my heart from heart
With no excuses just fell apart fell apart fell apart'.

All in all though its pretty well worth a listen.

Ok... Kindof wen't into review mode right there....

Change... That seems a common topic doesn't it?
Just from The Manics whole reinvention thing there. Like, its constant isn't it.
Not always for the best.
Change in people, lifestlyes, surroundings, thoughts, weather, attitudes, fashion. Everything changes.
And not in such short a time either.
Or is it.
Is change slow, but you don't notice it. Like new shoes.
You don't notice it getting older and beaten and frayed. But when you see someone with the same pair only newer, you think, woah.. they look so different.
Is all change like that?
Probably not no.
But it does get you thinking.

Is there anything that doesn't change? Thats a good question.

Is change always for the better? Thats... Well, not as good a question. I mean the answers obvious isn't it... It depends on the change.
But if it changed, it changed for a reason.

Change, cahnge, canhge, canghe, cangeh.
Word loses meaning after a while. Or if your just change the letters around

Well, thats all.
I've spent about an hour doing this now, so I'm off!!!

Feel free to leave comments and stuff as always. Actually, thats not a plea or a request or anything. Just do it if you want to. I don't care either way. I can't stand when people write shit like;
"Yhz so plz lve mi a cmmnt nd do mi pllz nd quizzs cz im cul".
Like, if you were 'cOOl' you wouldn't be begging people to get in contact with you. Gobshite.

Anyway. Bye.

Tagged :]

1. Post all the rules.
2. When tagged, you must write eight things about yourself.
3. You must post these eight things in your journal.
4. You must then tag eight other friends/people.
5. Finally, leave a message on each of their pages letting them know they've been tagged.
